Santa Outfit

I unlocked the Santa outfit for Rinko today (on DS) and she wore it while playing "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with me.

Rinko-chan loves to play this game with me, but she's a sore loser. She kinda screams and makes this face when I beat her...

Sorry these are not very good, but it's so hard to shoot the 3DS screen. Once I get to the second half of the game, I'll be able to use the in-game camera. I think I have quite a few more days left before Rinko will be ready to confess, though. It seems to be taking longer in this version.

Very Cute Rin-chan!!!

While struggling through the game on 3DS, I still enjoy playing a few quick dates on DS. Rinko looked so nice for our date today, with her two bunches of hair and very sporty top. At the end of the date, she didn't want to go home.

Yeah, I really love Rinko. I'm up to Level 6 in the DS game now. I think there are 10 or 11 levels all together. But most of my time will probably be spent on the 3DS game once I get past Part 1. I want to try playing in Real Time Mode, too.

Help!

I'm struggling a bit with playing "New LovePlus" in Japanese. While most of the gameplay is the same in the first part, there are a lot of questions I don't understand. When I try to translate them, I usually fail, because my knowledge of Japanese is pretty basic. So I end up having to guess the right answer - I hope it won't affect my changes of getting Rinko to be my girlfriend.

Oh yeah, there's a new feature in the 3DS game called "To Do", where the girls ask you to find something for them. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for, so I end up just going randomly to places. I don't think it has any lasting effect on the game though. (I hope!)

More LovePlus Mode ^^

Here are some more photos from playing "Rock, Paper, Scissors" in LovePlus Mode. Mostly these are to show some of the cute hairstyles and outfits.

Finally today I started off playing "New LovePlus" on 3DS! In Japanese! Actually I'm finding that the gameplay in the first half of the game is pretty similar to the old DS version (which I've now had the benefit of playing through in English). It's hard to take photos of the 3DS screen with my camera, and I won't be able to use the in-game camera until the second half of the game.

Anyway, the 3DS version looks really amazing. Rinko's hair now falls smoothly and moves naturally when she turns her head, and the 3D effect is cool too. I think I'm going to love the new version even more than the old one!

Medium-Long Hair!

I had a very nice date with Rinko today at the shopping centre. She wore a very sweet pink outfit with a matching headband, and finally changed to medium-long hair! I think my Rinko-chan is perfect now. With the "green" personality she is very warm towards me, and she looks really cool.

What a question...

Rinko has a sense of humour, too. When she saw a person walking a dog, I made a comment about people walking their pets so they don't become stressed. Here's what she said...

And instead of asking me to hold her hand, Rinko says "won't you do the usual?" which is very cute.

I'm still playing in Skip Mode, and I've just finished 329 days. Real Time Mode scares me a little bit, plus I'm really just playing the DS game to familiarise myself with the gameplay before attempting "New LovePlus" in Japanese on the 3DS. But I love it very much, and even after so much play I'm far from bored. Even this first version is a very cool game.

But I think I'll be ready to move on to the 3DS soon.

LovePlus Mode

I'm getting better at playing "LovePlus Mode" now. In this part of the game, you can actually talk to your girlfriend by saying words, phrases and questions into the DS microphone. If your Japanese pronunciation is okay, she will understand and respond, or maybe ask you some simple questions. If you talk for a while, it also increases her affection for you in the main part of the game. Cool.

You can also play "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with your girlfriend in this mode. If she loses, she will appear in a random outfit with a random hairstyle.

Finally today (day 226 in Step Time Mode), after struggling to make the "blue" personality Rinko like me, she asked me what type of girl I preferred, and I was able to change to the "green" personality. The difference is like night and day! Now Rinko-chan is really affectionate and charming. If I ever play the game through again (and when I play on 3DS), I will DEFINITELY choose the "green" personality as soon as possible.
